Its been great getting back in action on course at The Santander Tour event in Barcelona this week.
After 6 weeks out dealing with a niggle in my right wrist, I was delighted to be pain free in a tournament again. The Santander Tour is a competitive tour with many top Spanish players and international alike gathering to compete, this week hosted at The Vallromanes Golf Club in Barcelona.
The Pro-Am took place on Wednesday and I had a fantastic time with my team, getting round the course in a whopping 17 under par! Great work girls.
El Pro-Am tuvo lugar el miércoles y tenía un tiempo fantástico con mi equipo, que ronda el curso en una friolera 17 bajo par. Gran trabajo chicas.
We played a texas scramble format and my game was firing on all cylinders which gave me confidence going into the tournament on Wednesday.
Round one I felt more nervous than expected however on reflection this was not that surprising after some time out. I had a shaky front 9, +5 at the turn but with birdies on both 10 and 11, I found some momentum. Sadly a double bogie on 17th Hole after my tee shot found its self in a very bare lie in a green side bunker pushed me back to +5 (77) to finish.
Round 2 was a similar story with some of my tee shots leaving me out of position and scoring became challenging. I was very pleased with many aspects of my game and was happy to see birdies on the cards both days. My focus for next week will be to make smarter choices off the tee.
It was always going to be tough being the first competition back following injury but I am delighted to have had the opportunity to get back out, am happy with a 27th place finish and will take all the positives into next week in Sweden. Goal for next week : Improve on the number of fairways hit. How: Smarter Club selection.
Huge thanks to all sponsors of this event at Santander Tour and to my own supporters and sponsors.
Peace and love x
